    POSITION: PART-TIME  LOAN SERVICE CLERK AT OUR CORTLAND MAIN OFFICE

    WORK HOURS: 24 – 27 hours per week                       

    WORK DAYS: Monday through Thursday  (Fridays as needed)

    Job Objective
    (Purpose of the position): Maintain accurate records and files for all loan types.  Resolve customer and employee questions regarding loans set up, payments, payoffs, billings, etc.

    Essential Job Functions (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):
    1.    Main all loan records.
    2.    Pay taxes, insurance and other escrow items as required.
    3.    Answer telephones for customer payoffs & inquires.  Trouble-shooting the more difficult telephone inquires.
    4.    Scanning documents into electronic files.
    5.    Getting requested information/files for branches & customers.
    6.    Checking mortgage billing statements, researching any problems.
    7.    Credit ratings-written, as well as, telephone inquiries.
    8.    Exception lists; data entry of exceptions for each new loan that require titles, UCC’s, title insurance, and mortgages.
    9.    Processing paid mortgages & installment loans, including lien cancellation & return of documents to customer.

    Non-essential Functions (Marginal tasks performed by incumbent of the position):
    1.    Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

    General Description
    (A descriptive account of how this job is done to someone who has never done it):
    The major responsibility of this position (about 20% time) is spent handling customer inquiries and processing payoffs; trouble-shooting problems with loans, quoting credit ratings, getting requested information/files for branches and customers.  20% of time is spent on processing paid mortgage & installment loans, including lien cancellation and return of paid notes & collateral to customers.  20% of time is used on Exception List: data entry of exceptions for eachloan that would require titles, UCC’s title insurance or mortgages into the system for all loan types.  Tracking when information comes into Bank and removing from proper lists.  10% will be spent on scanning.  The remaining 10% will be used performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.  The physical demands: 70% of time spent sitting, 15% of time standing/kneeling and 15% of time walking.  Must be able to lift and carry approximately 5 lbs. Push and pull file boxes approximately 20%.  Also, bend, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, reach, speak clearly, hear, see & have depth perception and color vision.
